The short answer
A professionally designed logo in India typically costs between ₹1,500 and ₹25,000 from a studio or experienced freelancer, and from ₹50,000 to several lakhs when it is part of a full brand identity from an agency. Template and marketplace logos cost less, but you usually do not own anything unique.
The price is driven by four things: how many original concepts you see, how many rounds of changes are included, which file formats you receive, and whether any strategy happens before the drawing starts.

What makes one logo cost more than another
1. Number of original concepts
Three genuinely different directions take three times the thinking of one. If you are offered ten concepts for a very low price, most of them are variations of the same idea or adapted templates.
2. Revision rounds
A clear limit on revisions protects both sides. Unlimited revisions usually means the designer will stop listening after the third round.
3. File formats and ownership
You need a vector master (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF), plus PNGs for screens and a version that works in one colour. Make sure the quote says you own the final artwork and receive the source files.
4. Strategy before design
A logo is one part of a brand. When the brief includes positioning, naming, colour and type systems and usage guidelines, you are buying a brand identity, and the price moves into a different range — because the work does.
Logo or full brand identity?
A logo package is enough when you are starting small, testing an idea or need a mark for a single product. Choose a full identity when you are raising money, entering a competitive category, exporting, or when several people will produce material in your name and need rules to follow.
How to brief a designer so you pay once
- Say who the customer is and what they should feel when they see the logo.
- List two or three competitors and what you want to look different from.
- Share where the logo will appear most — packaging, app icon, signage, uniforms.
- Tell the designer what you do not want. It saves a full round of revisions.
